For International Women's Day, Toronto's Russian-language newspaper Russian Express published my personal essay: "My Journey from 'I'm Scared' to Owning My Business in Toronto." It's an honest look at how I moved from Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine to Canada, left a banking career behind, and found my calling in lash artistry — through self-doubt, late nights with tweezers, and hundreds of hours of training.
The article is about what every immigrant woman goes through when she decides to start something new in a foreign country: the fear of failure, the first clients, the first mistakes — and the moment you finally say to yourself: "I am a professional."
Thank you to the Russian Express team for giving me the platform to share this story with our community.
